It is now possible to file a complaint against Registrars that subscribed to the Code of Conduct

It is now possible to file a complaint against Registrars that subscribed to the Code of Conduct.

The objective in setting up a Code of Conduct, a voluntary instrument for self-regulation, is to respond to the need to create a framework of rules which assure end-users that they have access to reliable information and high-quality services, as provided by EURid's registrars. Under all circumstances, users are entitled to equitable, just, nondiscriminatory, and fair treatment.

If a party notices that a registrar that subscribed to the Code of Conduct alledgedly infringes the Code of Conduct Charter, they will have the possibility to file a complaint.

Complaints will only be regarded as complete when they contain the following information:
name, address, telephone number and email address of the complainant;

  • name and postal address of the registrar that has committed the alleged violation(s);
  • indication of the domain name(s) that may constitute the object of the complaint;
  • indication of the specific stipulations of the Code of Conduct that have allegedly been violated;
  • all relevant documents and information that can provide proof of the alleged violation(s).

The Council of Conduct will only take into consideration complaints filed against Registrars who have subscribed to the Code of Conduct.  Complaints against registrars who have not subscribed to the Code of Conduct will be handled by the EURid support team.
